Limit Switches

Electromechanical limit switches may be divided into two main categories: * Those which are primarily concerned with detecting the presence, absence or passing of an object. These devices usually serve to provide input signals to an automation system of some kind. * Power limit switches, whose contacts carry the main power to the process under control. These are termed "series limit switches" and primarily fulfil a safety function (for cranes, heavy mechanical handling, etc"). Electromechanical limit switches are used in a wide variety of applications by virtue of their many features, e.g. high reliability, positive opening contacts and excellent repeat accuracy.
