With JTAG TapCommunicator, boundary-scan interface signals are transported over a high-speed Ethernet channel between uplink and downlink modules. The target can be as remote from the boundary-scan controller as the communication link allows.
This breakthrough technology overcomes the limitations of other techniques to extend range such as manipulation of the test clock or the use of repeaters. Signal integrity is as robust as that of the network itself, typically including fault detection and re-transmission.
TapCommunicator is vendor-independent and can be used with any IEEE Std. 1149.1 compliant tester, emulator or programmer product. The full set of boundary-scan applications, test, in-system programming, and system-level operation, are fully supported.
