Bespoke Automation Design

The stretch bender shown in the photograph can take a flat strip material, roll it into its profile, sweep the profile into a curve and measure the curvature and length. This is then automatically conveyed through a rig. The rig has 7 stations, with different tasks being performed in the individual stations including bending, cutting, punching and checking. The beam is checked automatically that all of the features have been completed within the machine. Once the beam has been fully processed it is transferred into an unload station, which presents the beam to the operator for futher processing.
