Compression Only Load Cells
Compression occurs when a compressive stress is applied to a material resulting in their compaction. This leads to a shortening in length, nominally <0.5mm.To be aware of:
How the force is going to be applied to the load cell. This is how you maximise your accuracy in the system.
Mis-aligned forces can damage certain designs of load cells.
Be aware of how the force and re-acting force is applied to the load cell. Refer to the sketch: Pg 2 bottom right hand side of the PCM data sheets.
