Cobalt Iron (CoFe) Materials

Cobalt Iron alloys have the highest saturation polarization of all known magnetic alloys. It measures 2.35 T. Depending on composition and production processes different properties and magnetization curves can be created. Cobalt Iron materials are VACODUR® and VACOFLUX® .

VACODUR 50® and VACOFLUX 50® are well-suited for applications in generators and motors with high speeds such as those found in the aviation industry.

VACOFLUX 17® is a lower cost Cobalt-Iron alloy, which has a reduced Cobalt content to 17%. However it still retains a high saturation induction of 2.22T. The main applications of VACOFLUX 17 are actuators with high force density, such as those found in modern diesel injection and dot matrix printers.

The Cobalt-Iron alloys VACOFLUX 48® and VACOFLUX 50 have a maximum saturation polarization at 2.35T, which exceeds all known soft magnetic materials. The main applications for VACOFLUX 48 alloys are special transformers and high-performance motors. The main applications for VACOFLUX 50 alloys are pole pieces with the highest flow density, magnetic lenses, dot matrix printers, relays, motors and generators with large torque and strong force.
