The central joint is fitted with a hydraulic damper, allowing smooth movement of the ARM. This is essential when using the arm to position a probe; small movements are required to accurately position the probe. In addition, each section of the arm is built from machined aluminium alloy, giving the arm the stability that is essential for precise probing. When the ARM is in the required position, the central know can be tightened which locks the joint and elbows at the ends.
