The GPS8-NDi48 is a precision time standard designed for use in any application where reliable and accurate time information is required. The instrument receives time information from the Global Positioning System (GPS) time signal.

GPS Synchronisation
The unit includes an integral GPS receiver and will automatically synchronise to the GPS signal if at least one satellite is in view.
When synchronised to GPS, the GPS8-NDi48 functions as a STRATUM 1 time reference, and has an accuracy of better than 100 nanoseconds to GPS Time.
The unit is also capable of providing precise position data in the event that at least four satellites are in view. The internal oscillator is disciplined by the GPS signal to ensure continued operation during periods when it is unavailable.
IRIG-B Outputs
The instrument has a total of 48 IRIG-B outputs, each terminated in a 50Ω BNC socket. Each output is independently configurable by software to provide the IRIG-B signal in a variety of alternative code types and in addition, each individual output can be jumper selected for Modulated (AC) or DCLS (DC) format.

The unit is fully configurable via its front panel keypad, with status and position information displayed on the front panel LCD display. Alternatively, the unit can be remotely managed by SNMP via the network port.
All configuration data is stored in non-volatile memory, and is retained in the event of a power failure. The unit is housed in a rack-mountable chassis with an Alochrome 1200 finish and an attractive contrasting black painted front panel.
