Our Sport and Exercise Science Rooms allow research staff to monitor athlete performance under a wide range of climatic conditions.
Observations can be made from outside the room via the viewing window. Physiological outputs can be undertaken to monitor the performance of athletes in a number of climatic conditions.
Our sport and exercise science laboratories are designed to simulate different climatic conditions, allow athletes to prepare for specific competitive events and identify specific training requirements.
This is particularly useful to simulate some of the worlds more inhospitable climates. The effects of the conditions on equipment and clothing can also be monitored
These walk in climatic rooms replicate a variety of temperature and humidity ranges. Temperature ranges are available from -40°C to +55°C with variable humidity from 5%RH to 98%RH over a specific temperature range.
If necessary carbon dioxide and moisture levels can be controlled and hypoxic testing can be achieved with the introduction of nitrogen to simulate high altitudes.
Fans can be installed to replicate “wind” conditions.
Exercise machines such as treadmills and rowing machines can be used inside the room which is designed to cater for the heat dissipated from the machines and the athletes ensuring that the desired conditions are always maintained.
Our sport and exercise science laboratories are designed and built to accurately control a stable environment. The conditions within the test laboratory are continuously monitored to take account of emitted heat, water vapour and carbon dioxide etc.
In some circumstances the climatic test laboratory may need to be completely sealed to prevent the ingress of other unwanted gases. W can advise on the most appropriate method of controlling the environment inside the room and whether the laboratory needs to be completely sealed.
Our experience within this field enables us to do this successfully, as proven by our recent installations of the sport and exercise science laboratories at Loughborough and Napier Universities.
Our environmentally controlled sport science laboratories can be designed to meet your specific requirements, to replicate different climatic conditions and built to a size which fits your building and research objectives.
We have many years experience of supplying environmentally controlled sport and exercise science laboratories as well as many other types of environmental chambers and controlled environments.
