ROHS2 Screening Service to Assist Medical & Monitoring Instrumentation Industry

22-01-2014

15th November 2013 ITRI Innovation is offering the medical and monitoring instrumentation industry a screening service specifically for finished products or sub assemblies to help them comply with the new Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS Recast) deadline of the 22nd July 2014. Companies who place these products with electrical or electronic components on the market will be required to ensure that their suppliers have provided them with the supplementary information to support their claim that the products are RoHS2 compliant. Consequently, ITRI Innovation is offering a service aiming to test only the product elements that need to be tested for compliance with the legislation. Thus, this would reduce the cost through identifying the items most likely to be at risk. The final report, which has a traffic light approach, will become an extra assurance that materials declarations from the supply chain are trustworthy and comply with the National Measurement Office (NMO) standards.
