Siemens S5 to S7 Conversion
Every year an S5 keeps running, the risk of a long breakdown grows. A failed CPU or I/O card with no spare on the shelf can stop a machine for weeks. Converting to S7 removes that risk and brings the machine up to date.
Bubble Automation converts S5 systems to modern Siemens S7 hardware, usually S7-1500 or S7-1200 depending on the size of the job. We start by understanding the existing program properly, including the undocumented tweaks made over the years. The logic is then rebuilt in TIA Portal in the most suitable language, whether that is Ladder, FBD, STL or SCL.
Where we can, we keep the machine behaving the way your operators already know. Same sequences, same alarms, same feel. What changes is everything behind the scenes: modern diagnostics, better fault messages, readily available spares and support from engineers who can work on it for years to come.
Code is prepared and tested before we arrive on site, including simulation where it helps, so the switchover is as short as possible.
